VALIS Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
This policy describes how the VALIS app handles information. The contact point for every question and request under this policy is [email protected].
Accounts
Accounts are provisioned by the account owner. The app offers no in-app sign-up. When an account is created for you, we store a username and a password, and the password is stored only as a scrypt hash with a per-user salt on our own backend. We never store your password in readable form.
What the app stores
The backend stores the things the app needs to work. Those are your account and session records, your chat messages with Noetica, your node-to-node messages, the governance actions you take in the app, your conversation history, and the standing data your node carries. Sessions use bearer tokens with expiry. Data is served over HTTPS.
Attachments and voice notes
Photos, videos, documents, and voice notes exist in the app only when you select or record them. The app does not reach into your library, camera, or microphone on its own. Each attachment and each voice note is something you chose to add to a conversation.
What we do not collect
The app does not collect your location, your contacts, your calendar, your health information, your financial information, your browsing history, your emails, or your texts. The app carries no advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting software from third parties.
Sharing
We do not sell your information. We do not share your information with third parties. The backend that stores app data is our own.
Deletion
You can request deletion of your account and its associated data today by writing to the contact point above. Requests are answered by a person, and deletion removes the account and its associated user data rather than freezing the account.
Changes
If this policy changes, the changed text is posted at the same address as the policy itself, and material changes are noted in the app.
